School Profile

The school is set in ninety acres of wooded grounds. The happy, caring atmosphere and excellent facilities enable all children to reach their maximum potential. The main boarding school takes pupils between the ages of 8 and 13 years and includes some day pupils. The school has a long-standing academic reputation and prepares children for all of the major senior independent schools. The Pre-prep department takes day children from ages 2 to 7 years.

The school was inspected in April 2005 by the Independent Schools Inspectorate. Opening comments about the school's strengths:

"very good provision for pupils' personal development, and the beauty and freedom they enjoy in the grounds, give each pupil time to be a child, the opportunity to be treated as an individual and a vibrant community in which to grow towards adult life."
