Ardvreck School

School Profile

Situated amidst the beautiful Perthshire hills, Ardvreck could not wish for a better location. With commanding views of the surrounding countryside, the school offers its pupils all the attractions and advantages of a quiet safe rural setting, while being only minutes away form the centre of Crieff and an hour away from Edinburgh and Glasgow.

When W E Frost founded Ardvreck as a Preparatory School in 1883, he did so with the express intention of teaching all of his pupils 'patience, justice, obedience and unselfishness'. More than a hundred years later the school continues to uphold these principles and is firmly committed to encouraging the highest academic standards and to providing a happy, stable, all-round education.

The teaching and domestic facilities are excellent. Most of the classrooms have been built since 1983, including a Music School, Art, Mathematics and Information and Communications Technology rooms, Science laboratory, Geography and French rooms, and Pre-Preparatory Department. The sports facilities include a covered swimming pool and recently redeveloped sports fields and artificial turf cricket pitch. A new multi-purpose hall for sport, drama, concerts and other gatherings, is due to be completed by January 2000.

Children will only fulfil their full potential at school when they feel happy and secure. Boys and girls at Ardvreck achieve success in all facets of education because they benefit from the cheerful, enthusiastic atmosphere for which the school is well known, and which attracts and retains a talented and dedicated staff. Pupils progress with enthusiasm to their choice of senior schools, whilst retaining their affection for Ardvreck and the friends they made there.
