Dean Close School, established in 1886, is set in 50 acres of park and woodland in the centre of Cheltenham. A strong tradition of music, art, sport and drama and a wide spectrum of extra curricular activities make it possible for every child to achieve success and confidence. The school has excellent facilities including a 550-seat professional theatre, amphi-theatre, 2 water based Astroturf pitches, a 25m indoor heated swimming pool, climbing wall, indoor rifle range, dance studio and fully equipped gymnasium. DCPS is a Christian School with a warm, caring family atmosphere where individuality is cherished. The school has three boarding houses, one for older boys, one for older girls and a junior boarding house for younger boys and girls. All three boarding houses are very busy on weekends as 90% of boarders are full time. The school is also the home to boy choristers who sing weekday evensong at Tewkesbury Abbey.
