Pupils follow an international curriculum and are presented for GCSE, SQA Standard Grade, Intermediate and Higher examinations.
The education, based on the philosophies of Rudolf Steiner, emphasises personal responsibility and social awareness. Regular exchanges are held with other European schools, French and German are taught from age six, and each year a number of pupils from abroad attend the Upper School.
One of 874 Steiner schools world-wide, the Edinburgh Rudolf Steiner School was founded over 60 years ago in 1939. It is subject to HMIe inspections.
