Great Ballard

School Profile

Great Ballard School was founded in 1924 and established at Eartham in 1961. The main building, Eartham House, was designed by Lutyens and is surrounded by twenty acres of beautiful parkland and an extensive range of playing fields.

At Great Ballard the happiness, health and welfare of every child is of paramount importance. Children's natural curiosity and desire for knowledge are stimulated by making lessons fun. All are expected to work hard to fulfil their own potential but there have to be opportunities to let off steam and have a good time.

The emphasis is on the individual, so that all the children, regardless of strengths and weaknesses, are able to reach their potential in an increasingly wide and varied field of study and activity and develop into confident, well adjusted young people.

It is a privilege to work with these young people in our lively 'go ahead' atmosphere, where Christian principles, traditional values and a sense of fun are at the heart of all that we do.
