Junior King's School
Reviews | News | Further Information The Junior King's School is part of the King's School Foundation whose roots in the educational tradition go back to the sixth century and the arrival in Canterbury of St Augustine.
Founded in 1879, the Junior King's School spent its first half-century in the Cathedral Precincts under the wing of the Senior King's School. The School moved out into the countryside to its present spacious premises at Milner Court, Sturry, just two miles from Canterbury, in 1929. The 16th century Manor House, set in 80 acres on the banks of the River Stour, along with a superb Tithe Barn and Oast, offered a wonderfully spacious and attractive new home for a Prep-School.
Over the years, the school has been enhanced to include modern science laboratories, a separate Art, Design and Technology Centre, a swimming pool, new libraries and recreation rooms, and most recently, a fine new Dining Hall and a superb Sports Hall.Although geographically separated from the Senior School, the Junior School remains very much a part of King's, which now offers continuity of education for both boys and girls until the age of 18.
