Saint Ronan's has many strong features, most notably its care for the pupils and relationships with parents. Pupils achieve good standards particularly in English, mathematics and science, and are successful in the entrance examinations to a range of highly-rated boarding schools and the competitive local grammar schools. Boarding is well organised and contributes much to the pupils' personal development. The leadership is determined and far-sighted, and the new initiatives introduced since the headmaster's appointment are successfully moving the school forward.
