The Chorister School

School Profile

Situated in the back garden of Durham Cathedral, the Chorister School blends the traditions of a truely independent prep school with the most modern teaching methods and practices. We offer a broad curriculum taught in small classes where your child will always be an individual not part of a crowd. You can take advantage of before and after school care, a huge range of after school clubs and activities as well as full-time, weekly or flexible mid-week boarding.

Children move on to a wide range of senior schools both locally and far afield. Last year over 70% of leavers won scholarships or places at competitive entry schools and we can offer advice and information on where to go next and arrange trial days and visits.

We are a happy school, small enough for everyone to know everyone else and fell part of the family that we are, yet large enough for everyone to have the space to develop in their own way.

Don't take our word for it, come and see us for yourself.
